Watch Shaw TV’s “The Express” segment featuring Edie Hats.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to work thinking it was going to be just like any other day.   And it was … until the shop got an unexpected call.  Shaw TV was coming to do an interview for a piece they were doing for “The Express” on four special stores on Granville Island.   Edie Hats had been chosen as one of them.

Edie Hats’ quick-thinking staff instantly sprung into action.  The store was tidied and organized in minutes.  We called Edie to do the interview but she was at a meeting and couldn’t make it.  She gave me her blessing, told me to be myself and have fun.

The crew arrived and I had barely enough time to put on a little lipstick before the mic was clipped to my dress (thank goodness I had chosen to wear a dress today!) and I found myself in front of the camera.  I was nervous and surprised.  I wasn’t quite ready for this.  Fortunately, I have witnessed Edie many times talking with the media.  All the things she’s said about the shop came flooding back into my memory and her words of encouragement kept me on track.

I did it! After all, it was just another day at work at Edie Hats!
