December 2008 was a special time for Edie Hats and Tart. It was Tart’s first Christmas! To join in the spirit of the season, Edie hosted the first ever “Delicious December” at Tart – a series of special events including live music, burlesque, and lots of wonderful presents for all Edie’s valued customers.

On the first day of the celebration, Laurell of Canadian Idol fame performed her signature brand of finely crafted pop rock. Tart’s own Ginger Snap followed with a sexy, kid-friendly striptease that heated up the cold winter air.

The second day, Jennifer Hershman performed, her sweet vocals and folksy sound filling the air with some welcome floral notes and a hint of astringency. Luis Gutierrez, joined by his friend, also named Luis, performed next. Their upbeat, romantic, Latin sound added some spice and exotics to cap off the day.

The third day featured the lovely Laurell, returning by popular demand and doing what she does best: making amazing music. Next, Don McLeod and David Blair of S.A.S.S. swung by to perform songs from their latest albums and some great Beatles covers to boot.

The festivities took place mostly on our outdoor stage, and we cannot thank our wonderful performers enough for braving the coldest winter Vancouver’s had in over 30 years. The Christmas cheer we contributed to the West End was felt by the locals and holiday shoppers in equal measure.
