Visit Edie Hats and you will find, tucked in among the hats and gloves, draped here and there, a gorgeous selection of silk hand-embroidered shawls from Spain. This is evidence of Edie’s passion for flamenco, and she has been importing these beautiful Mantons de Manila for many years directly from Seville.

When Edie and I met Kat from Smart Tart we fell instantly in love with her locally designed collection. She opened her hatboxes to reveal delightfully one-of-kind floral headpieces, some with cardinals, others with netting, a pink peony on a pink headband, and lovely flower chokers. They’re all now available at Edie Hats and Tart, along with her French lace sleevelets, leather cuffs and handmade jewellery.

Working at Edie Hats, I’ve amassed a pretty extensive hat collection, but until I discovered Ebbets Field I had felt I was missing something. These authentic replica vintage baseball caps have filled the gap. They are high quality, simple, stylish, and very personal to me.

The Spring 2009 collection from San Fransisco’s 1333 Minna Collective is inspired by the art of ancient Babylon and Mesopotamia. The hats feature original designs by contemporary artists that reinvent the ancient deities and hieroglyphics with an urban edge, blending an artistic sensibility with the raw relevancy of streetwear.
