Flamenco
Flamenco is a uniquely expressive form of music, song and dance from the south of Spain. It is no secret that among all Edie’s passions, few rival her love of hats like flamenco.
For many years, Edie has been a key player in the flamenco community in Vancouver. She is a student, performer, promoter and tireless supporter of the art. Edie Hats has sponsored a children’s flamenco scholarship program, imported and donated cajons (flamenco drum boxes) to the kid’s classes at Mozaico Flamenco Dance Academy, and provided financial support for groups like Flores y Lunares and Mozaico Flamenco Dance Theatre.
Edie’s new store Tart Boutique on Granville Island stocks a selection of gorgeous handmade Senovilla flamenco shoes, as well as beautiful embroidered Artesania silk shawls and accessories from Seville. Visit our photo gallery.

Flamenco Schools
There are several flamenco schools in the Lower Mainland. Each school
has its own unique approach to teaching and learning the art of flamenco.
The two largest schools, Centro Flamenco and Mozaico Flamenco Dance
Academy, are in Vancouver. All schools offer classes for adults and
children from introductory to advanced levels.
